How in the galaxy did Maz Kanata end up with Luke’s lightsaber?

She literally said, “A good question, for another time.” And then… we never got that time. No answer, no follow-up, just mystery. 🤨

So, I did some digging. And while the movies never told us, there might be an explanation hidden elsewhere in Star Wars lore.
