"Too dangerous to be kept alive"

"Anakin is gone. I am what remains."
– Darth Vader, Obi-Wan Kenobi series

Did You Know?

When Anakin is coerced into killing Count Dooku, Palpatine justifies it by saying Dooku was "too dangerous to be kept alive." Anakin hesitates but responds, "That's not the Jedi way."

Fast forward to when Mace defeats Palpatine. Anakin pleads with him not to kill without a trial, but Mace repeats the same line—“He’s too dangerous to be kept alive.” Anakin, desperate, begs again, “That’s not the Jedi way.”

This is the breaking point. For Anakin, the line between the Jedi and Sith blurs completely. The Jedi have become what they claim to stand against. In that moment, Anakin sees them as hypocrites, no better than the Sith.

Hey Reader! 👋

I can’t stop thinking about what it must have been like for the Jedi who survived Order 66 to realize Darth Vader was Anakin Skywalker. Imagine being someone like Jocasta Nu or Ferren Barr, coming face-to-face with that horrifying truth. How do you even process something like that?

But here’s the wild part—not every Jedi figured it out the same way. For some, it was a devastating confrontation. For others, it was a gut-wrenching realization after connecting the dots. And some… well, let’s just say they found out in the most tragic ways.

If you’ve ever wondered how the Jedi uncovered the truth about Vader, this is a story you don’t want to miss.

As Far As I Know, Darth Vader Is the Number 2 in the Empire. Why Can Grand Moff Tarkin Order Darth Vader Around?
